About me
Hello, I’m Nadya. I was born in Iraq where a love of family and food was instilled in me. I lived in Baghdad for the first 10 years of my life before moving to Bradford. With Arabic and Yorkshire roots I now live in London with my husband and three children.
I had two very different birth and postnatal experiences. The birth of my first son was a positive and empowering experience. He was 17 months when my twins arrived at 32 weeks. We spent the first 5 weeks of their lives in NICU before coming home to start our crazy journey as I juggled my business at the same time. I wish I’d known back then how a doula could have helped! In 2019 I knew what I needed to do and completed my doula training with Developing Doulas.
As a mother to three lively, inquisitive children, I'm passionate about raising them to embrace their individuality and develop a strong sense of self. Fostering an environment where my boys are encouraged to be gentle, empathetic, and in touch with their emotions while empowering my daughter to think freely, express herself confidently, and find her unique voice.
I provide support for and welcome LGBTQI families and also work with new parents from various backgrounds. Whether becoming parents through adoption, surrogacy or starting this journey alone, I can be by your side every step of the way.
